Jamshedpur: Celebrations marked a historic milestone at Tata Motors as employees across multiple divisions accorded a rousing welcome to the leadership of the Tata Motors Workers Union following the successful conclusion of a landmark wage settlement.
Union president Shashi Bhushan Prasad and General Secretary R.K. Singh were felicitated along with the full union team in a series of programmes held throughout the day on Friday.
The celebrations began at Plant-3 CPS at 8:30 AM, where employees extended a grand welcome to the union leaders. Senior management representatives, including GM Kiran Narendran, were also present.
The atmosphere was festive, with sweets distributed among employees to commemorate the agreement.
Both union leaders expressed their gratitude to the workforce, while R.K. Singh elaborated on key aspects of the wage settlement. Kiran Narendran also addressed the gathering.
The event was conducted by Naveen Kumar, with a vote of thanks delivered by Santosh Tiwari.
The celebrations continued at the Axle Division—both Front and Rear—where employees once again extended a warm reception. Addressing the gathering, R.K. Singh acknowledged the role of employee feedback in shaping the agreement and highlighted the challenges involved in aligning different grades.
He noted that despite complexities, the union successfully ensured the integration of GO and E grade employees into the newly structured T grade, securing uniform benefits. Senior officials including GM A.K. Das and DGM (Production) Subhash Singh were present.
The programme was anchored by Ashok Upadhyay.
Later in the day, a felicitation ceremony was held at the World Truck Factory in the presence of senior officials including GM Manish Verma.
The union leaders were honoured with garlands and traditional shawls. The event was jointly conducted by R.R. Dubey and Manoj Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, R.K. Singh emphasized that a company can achieve sustained growth only when the union, management, and employees work in unison.
He stated that the wage agreement has taken into account the interests of all stakeholders. President Shashi Bhushan Prasad congratulated the workforce and expressed optimism about even better outcomes in the future.
The day-long celebrations reflected a strong sense of unity and collective achievement across the organisation following the successful wage settlement.
