Jamshedpur: Tata Motors Workers Union submitted a 51-point Charter of Demands (COD) to the company management on Saturday to initiate the new grade revision agreement. Union President Shashi Bhushan Prasad and General Secretary RK Singh led the delegation, which now awaits a response from management before the current agreement expires on April 1, 2026.
Agreement Will Be Timely: General Secretary
The General Secretary stated that the COD is based on direct suggestions from employees. After reviewing these suggestions, the union prepared the final draft.
Focus on Management-Union Talks
Currently, 7,321 permanent employees are closely watching the upcoming negotiations. If the agreement is finalized by March 31, 2026, employees will receive a lump sum bonus of ₹20,000 as an incentive for a timely settlement. For context, the 2022 agreement saw a salary hike of ₹17,000, which included a ₹6,618 increase in basic pay and ₹3,000 in variable pay, implemented in four phases (65%, 15%, 10%, and 10%).
