Jamshedpur, July 12: Tata Motors, under its Pragati Scheme, has collaborated with Arka Jain University to facilitate diploma studies of its employees. The company has entered an agreement with the university in this regard. Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant Head Vishal Badshah, ER Head Deepak Kumar and the senior Board officials of the company from Mumbai witnessed the signing of agreement through video conferencing. Tata Motors Workers Union president Gurmeet Singh Tote and general secretary RK Singh were present on this occasion along with the representatives of Arka Jain University, sources said.
Under the agreement, it was decided that 80 per cent of the expenses of studies would be borne by the company management while the remaining 20 per cent would be borne by the employees. After doing diploma, the employees would be eligible for direct recruitment as supervisors, whether permanent or temporary, sources said.
The union leaders said the agreement would pave the way for the employees’ growth.
