Jamshedpur, Sept 8: Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant was awarded �Excellent Energy Efficiency Unit� at the 16th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management – 2015 organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) on 3rd Sep-15 at Hyderabad in recognition of its continued commitment and efforts towards improvement in energy efficiency, reduction in carbon emission and implementation of various energy conservation projects.
Earlier, Jamshedpur Plant had achieved �Energy Efficiency Unit� award on four occasions. This year�s competition had over 248 companies participating in various categories such as Automobile & Manufacturing, Buildings, Cement, Metals & Steel, General, Power, Paper & Sugar out of which 127 companies were invited for the final presentation round in Hyderabad on 2nd and 3rd Sep-15.
In the Automobile & Manufacturing sector 25 companies were shortlisted.
Ajay Mathur, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Govt. of. India & Mr. Naushad Forbes, President �Designate, CII presented the Award consisting of a shield and certificate to the Tata Motors Jamshedpur team represented by Mr. Mukteshwar Verma � AGM (Env. & Energy Mgmt.), Mr. Deepak Kumar � AGM ( CPED) �& Mr. Mayank Tomer- Manager (Engg. Audit).
