Jamshedpur, Jan. 6:The annual 59th, 60th & 61st Championship Dog Show organised by Jamshedpur Kennel Club got underway at JRD Tata Sports Complex (Hockey Ground) on Friday, January 6. On the most looked forward events of the winter season here, the show began with obedience trails.
The agility test, involving company dog squads, took the programme forward.
Tata Motors Dog Tuffy (Mallions Breed) won hearts in the crowd and, most importantly, the heart of the judge to emerge victorious at the obedience test and became the best obedient dog of the show. The second prize was won by Tata Steel dog.Total 22 dogs participatedin the obedience test from all over India.
This was followed by a march past by the dog squad, school children and school band.
On the occasion, a souvenir was also released by the chief guest. Earlier, the event was inaugurated by TV Narendran, MD, Tata Steel.
Addressing the gathering, TV Narendran said, �Dog is the most loyal creature on Earth and we should learn loyalty from dogs�.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Sunil Bhaskaran, VP, CS, Tata Steel, senior dignitaries of the District Administration, Tata Motors, Associated Companies and eminent Citizens, etc.This year, a record 315 entries have been received from all over the country.
This year, the Championship Dog Show will have around 32 breed.
All-Breed Show will be held on 7th & 8th Jan�17 from 8.00am to 6.30 pm on both days. The Prize distribution for the All Breeds Show Line-up and Best in Breeds would be held on 8th Jan�17 at 6.30 pm where the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony would be A B Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors.
The highlight of the show will be display of some of the popular breeds like German Shepherd, Labrador, Golden Retriever, Doberman, Dalmatian, Boxer, Beagles, Dachshund, Mastiffs, pugsthis year we would be having some special breeds like �Akita, Afghan Hound, Siberian Husky, Maltese, Miniature Schnauzer, Alaskan Malamute, Kerry Blue Terrier, ChihuaHUa, Fox Terrier, Whippet etc.
