Jamshedpur, Aug 13: Tata Motors’ Body-in-White (BIW) Factory organised a blood donation camp at the company’s Blood Donation Centre, collecting a total of 134 units of blood. The event saw enthusiastic participation from employees across all grades, including trainees, making the drive a success.
The camp was attended by Tata Motors Workers’ Union President Shashi Bhushan Prasad, Executive President Anil Sharma, Joint Secretaries H.S. Saini and Ajay Bhagat, BIW Factory GM Munish Rana, ER & CSR Head Soumik Roy, DGM ER Varshil Sahay, blood coordinators and members of the R.K. Singh Fans Club.
GM Munish Rana expressed pride in the factory’s two outstanding blood donors, Tarun Kumar Mandal and Chandan Kumar, who have donated blood over 50 times each. “Their contribution has saved many lives and is a source of great pride for all of us,” he said.
Soumik Roy praised Tata Motors’ culture of organising large-scale blood donation programs. “Such initiatives to save lives are commendable. I thank everyone whose efforts have created a record in blood donation,” he noted.
During the event, the two exemplary donors were honoured with shawls, flower pots and gifts, presented by the dignitaries. Chandan Kumar has donated blood 51 times, while Tarun Kumar Mandal has donated 53 times.
ER Senior Manager Nagendra Singh, who conducted the programme, remarked, “To donate blood, you don’t need to be a strongman—only a good human being.” The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Soumik Roy.
