Tata Main Hospital Jamshedpur celebrates International Nurses Day

Jamshedpur, May 13: International Nurses’ Day is celebrated annually on May 12 as a remembrance of the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale who is the pioneer and founder of modern nursing.

Nurses at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) celebrated the day by organizing cultural programmes and other activities to mark the occasion meaningfully. The evening witnessed solo dance forms, duet dance, skit, Sambalpuri dance, Dandiya dance, Santhali dance etc regaling audiences at Rose Garden inside Tata Main Hospital premises.  

The theme of the year is “Our nurses-Our Future”. On the occasion, a tree plantation programme was also organised at Covid Warrior Park.  

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice-President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel was the Chief Guest on the occasion. His encouraging words motivated and refreshed the nurses post COVID-19 pandemic which was a challenging time for the fraternity.

Dr Sudhir Rai (Rtd. AVM) General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel was the Guest of Honour for the event. He addressed the audience and shared his thoughts.

Nursing Superintendent Marykutty Babu welcomed the gathering and enumerated the valuable contribution of the nurses. She also reminded the nurses about the importance and responsibilities of their profession. All the Head of Departments and Administration team of TMH expressed their gratitude and appreciation and joined in the function.
