Jamshedpur, May 13: Dr. Gautam Sutradhar contributed to the post of director of National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur.
Dr Sutradhar was working as Director in NIT Manipur and has been appointed as Director in NIT for the second time after completing his tenure of 5 years.
Although his appointment letter had come from the Ministry of Education, Government of India on May 2 itself, but due to being relieved from NIT Manipur and completing other formalities, Dr. Sutradhar was able to contribute to the institute on May 12.
The same institute’s outgoing director Dr. Karunesh Kumar Shukla will contribute to his parent institute NIT Allahabad after completing his tenure at NIT Jamshedpur. By the way, Dr. Shukla has also been appointed as Director in ANIT Bhopal for 5 years. Dr. Shukla will go to NIT Allahabad to contribute to the post of Director of NIT Bhopal after completing the formalities. Dr Gautam Sutradhar, the new Director of NIT Jamshedpur, holds an MTech degree in Mechanical Engineering Department in Foundry Technology from IIT Kharagpur and a PhD from BIT Mesra. Sutradhar is originally a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Jadavpur University Kolkata and is a country’s well-known expert in foundry technology. Dr. Sutradhar, on the very first day of his contribution, held a meeting with the registrar, dean, head of the department, and officials of all the divisions, and discussed deeply about the action plan for the overall development of the institute. Information to this effect was given by the media in-charge of the institute, Sunil Kumar Bhagat.
