Tata-Gua Passenger train cancelled for six days

Jamshedpur, June 24: Train services in the Tatanagar-Chaibasa section under the Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway (SER) will remain suspended till June 28 due to a non-interlocking work (railway signaling system and track repairs job) near Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district.

Train services have been affected from Thursday. �

Station manager of Tatanagar O.P Sharma said that the Tata-Gua Passenger train will remain cancelled for six days from today due to the railway track repairing job.

“We have received a circular in this regard from South Eastern Railway’s headquarters in Kolkata. Movement of a few mail and express trains including the Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Express which travels via Chaibasa would be affected for six days from today,” he said.

Railway officials at Tatanagar said that announcements about the disruption in train service were made at Tatanagar and other railway stations like Adityapur, Rajkharsawan, Chakradharpur and Jharsuguda.

Movement of Puri-Haridwar Utkal Express, Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Superfast Express and Geetanjali Express would also be affected due to the non-interlocking work.

Meanwhile, in a separate circular Garden Reach, headquarters of SER today announced introduction of a special train for Rath Yatra between Rourkela and Puri. The train will make two trips on July 5 and July 13 from Rourkela and two trips from Puri on July 6 and July 14.

The Tatanagar station assumes importance in view because it is located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.

The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
