Jamshedpur: An unexpected LPG supply disruption at Tata Cummins has directly impacted the plates of hundreds of employees. During the ‘B’ shift on Friday, the company canteen stopped serving rotis, providing only rice to workers instead.
Sudden Menu Change
The shift in menu occurred during the 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM dinner session. While management has not yet issued an official circular regarding the shortage, the sudden absence of a staple food item has sparked widespread discussion among the workforce.
Impact on Employees
Approximately 940 employees, including permanent staff and trainees, rely on the canteen for their daily meals.
-
The Standard Meal: Typically includes rice, dal, vegetables, salad, curd, and rotis.
-
The Cost: Employees pay a subsidized monthly fee of Rs 60 for this service.
-
Breakfast Status: Fortunately, the gas crisis has not yet affected morning snacks such as idli, upma, and samosas.
The company is expected to resolve the supply chain issue shortly to restore the full menu for its staff.
