Jamshedpur, Apr 4: Tarapore School recently organized Rhythm, an inter-school, non-competitive event centred on the UN-declared International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation, aiming to instil environmental awareness among kindergarteners. The event brought together students from 28 schools across the city, blending playful activities with important lessons on climate change and glacier conservation.

Ashu Tiwary, Principal of St. John’s High School, attended as the Chief Guest and praised the initiative for nurturing eco-consciousness in young minds. Also present were Uma Tiwary, Principal of Hill Top School, along with and the Bodhanwala family, the school’s Chairman and Vice Chairperson.

Children participated in engaging activities such as building a penguin’s nest, making snowmen with artificial snow and solving glacier-themed puzzles. A puppet show and animated presentation helped simplify complex topics like global warming and its impact on glaciers. A live demonstration using a model showed how melting glaciers lead to rising sea levels, affecting polar habitats.

Aligned with NEP 2020’s emphasis on experiential learning, Rhythm successfully combined fun with environmental education. Tarapore School’s initiative highlighted its commitment to holistic development, ensuring that even the youngest learners understand their role in protecting the planet.
