Jamshedpur, August 21:Bagbera Hosing Colony residents have been bearing acute water supply crunch over the past four days for want of repair of the burnt-out motor pump.
In response to a plea by Panchayat Committee member Sunil Gupta, BJP leader and former Zila Parishad Vice President, Rajkumar Singh, has pressed his private tankers, each with a capacity with of four thousand litres, into service for distributing water free of charges to the Bagbera Colony residents. Singh said that the free water supply in the Colony would continue till the water pump was repaired.
The latest water crisis caused due to the burnt out water pump over the past four days, saw Bagbera Colony residents resignedly queuing up at places like Durga Puja Maidan, Nehru Maidan, Road No. 4 and Road No. 3 for collecting drinking water. Residents have expressed their gratitude to Rajkumar Singh for his humanitarian assistance. (w/gsd)
