Ranchi: State human resources development (HRD) minister Gitashree Oraon has made it mandatory for all private schools of the state to take permission of the education department before effecting any fee hike. She issued the orders during a meeting with the principals of private schools held today in the state Capital.
Sources said the HRD minister discussed the fee hike issue and other issues related to education with the private school principals and asked the latter to take due permission from the education department before going ahead with any decision to increase school fees.
Abhibhavak Mahasangh hailed the decision taken by the HRD minister. The convenor of the outfit Ajay Rai said the minister had taken the right decision by taking the measure aimed at exercising greater control over private schools of the state. He said the government had proved that it was concerned about the plight of students and parents by taking action against private schools.
