Jamshedpur: The two day 44th Theatre Festival organized by Theatre Artistes of Jamshedpur (TAJ) concluded today on a winning note.

An almost houseful audience on both days ensured that all was not lost on the theatre horizon. Moreover, drama lovers are acquainted with the fact that TAJ presentations are quality packages and thus they come with hope of witnessing fruitful creativity while reflecting the joys and sorrows that life begets.

Today was thespian Paran Bandyopadhyas day as the play, Miththebadi, (liar) penned by him, has the audience sitting up and watching defining moments of middle class life through a lucid narrative. Paran Bandyopadhyay did not belie the expectations of the connoisseurs of theatre present in the almost teeming Rabindra Bhawan Auditorium.

The theme is a literal case of the events that occur in a family, or, more precisely, in the lives of a couple after the demise of a loved one. There on, its a tale of wobbly events until a Samaritan enters to revive the family spirit and gradually ensures the return to the path of middleclass happiness.

Set, lighting, costume and makeup were befitting the presentation. Other actors who justified their performances included Moumita Ghosh, Sddhartha Ghosh, Pranab Chatterjee, Anupam Pal, Anup Kumar Dutta, Anirban Sengupta, Tanuja Chakraborty, Prabir Bhattacharya and Arun Chakraborty.

TAJ joint Secretary Santu Banerjee while offering the vote of thanks mentioned that theatre was alive because of the audience. Larger the audience, greater is the zeal of the performers, he mentioned.
