Tagore�s birth anniversary celebrated at Parsudih

Jamshedpur: The 156th birth anniversary of Kavi Guru and Nobel laureate Ravindra Nath Tagore was celebrated with fervour at Parsudih under the aegis of Sonar Tori.

The programme was inaugurated jointly by Zila Parishad vice president Rajkumar Singh, Zila Parishad member Sudipto Dey Rana and the outfit�s founder Rajendra Sah Raj.

The guests garlanded a portrait of Tagore on the occasion.

In their address, Rajkumar Singh and Rajendra Sah spoke on the life and achievements of Tagore and also threw light on his great creations. The guests said Tagore taught the world to love music and imbibe it in one�s day to day life with his poetry and writings.

A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion. It was directed by the outfit�s secretary Rupa Haldhar. The students presented Ravindra Sangeet and enchanted the gathering with their stupendous dance performance.

Rajendra Sah also gave a rendition of Ravindra Sangeet. He said he had sang Bhojpuri songs based on Ravindra Sangeet. CDs of the songs are selling like hot cake, he said.

Among those present on the occasion included Anushka Banerjee, Shreyali Chakravarty, Rinita Guha, Sohini, Manali, Ruchika, Sarvjeet, Orchit, Romit Pal, Manisha, Munmun Pal, Rajdeep and Seema.
