Tagore Society set to host annual music competition

Jamshedpur: Tagore Society is geared up to host its annual Jharkhand Music Competition between December 2 and 9. This annual event has been bringing to the fore many talents in the various performing genres and the drive to unearth more such performers will continue with Jharkhand Music Competition � 2018.
Tagore Society, Jamshedpur general secretary Ashis Chowdhury, vide a press communiqu� informed that this annual event was designed to provide a platform to budding artistes to showcase their talent.
The artistes will be provided entries to the competition as per their age and ability. Four categories for competitors include the children�s group in the age bracket of 5 to 8 years, Group C for age group between 8 and 12 years, Group B between 12 and 16 years and Group A will include artistes between the ages of 16 years and above.
Entry forms will be available at the Tagore Society office till November 30 from 10 am to 12 noon and between 4 and 7 pm on payment of requisite fees. The last date for submission of duly filled forms will also be November 30.
The competitors� talents will be tested in events like recitation, Rabindra Sangeet recitals, tabla performances, Indian classical dance presentations including Kaththak and Bharat Natyam forms and vocal recitals.
Ashis Chowdhury has requested all cultural and art institutions to provide their talented students for this State contest. He contended, �Participants can showcase their talents in this contest. Others who do not participate can learn from observing the contestants.�
