Jamshedpur: The ten-day Tafazzul Karim Sports Festival, organised by the Aman Welfare Society, began on Wednesday in Mango with various competitive events. On the opening day, competitions in carrom, chess, debate and essay writing were held. Adil Hussain and Samia Naz emerged as winners of the inter-school essay writing competition, securing first place in their respective categories. The winners were felicitated by organising committee president Dr Afroz Shakeel and educationist Tahir Hussain, who presented them with cheques of Rs 7,000 each. Rafat Ara, Mohd Shahid and others were present. Around 500 students from different schools are participating in the festival.
