Table Tennis tourney for senior citizens in Jamshedpur on Nov 25

Jamshedpur, Nov 24: Tata Steel Sports Department will organise Table Tennis competition for senior citizens on November 25 at JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event would be part of Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness league series, a noble initiative by the Tata Steel Sports department.

Last date to register for the sports event is November 24. The tournament will witness both Singles and Doubles events in both Men and Women category. Persons above 55 years of age can participate in the same and there will be no entry fee for the prospective participants. Moreover, there will be prizes for first, second and third position holders.

Tata Steel Sports Department has already organised a badminton league for the senior citizens in October and a yoga session on November 9. The events are aimed to inculcate a sense of camaraderie amongst the senior citizens besides promoting physical activity for the age group through sports, yoga etc.

Senior Citizens Fun & Fitness League was launched in October this year. It’s a 6-month long sporting event designed to cultivate a vibrant sporting culture within community by involving senior citizens in a diverse range of sporting disciplines.

The tentative calendar of upcoming events includes Golf Putting, Walkathon and Carom. Tata Steel is committed to ensure that all participants and officials are well taken care of during the events.
