T Niharika, Ridhaan Goyal clinch District under-7 chess championship at Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 8: District Under-7 Open Chess Competition concluded at the JRD Tata Sports Complex with prize distribution ceremony on Tuesday. The competition showcased remarkable talent among young chess enthusiasts. Total of 5 round in boys category and 4 in girls category were played.

In the Under-7 girls category, T Niharika emerged victorious, displaying exceptional strategic prowess. Anisha Kumari secured the second position, followed by Kaira Agarwal in third place. The competition also witnessed commendable performances by T Neha, Kavya Agarwal, Avishka Dubey, Divyana Aggarwal, and Diara Mehta, who secured the subsequent positions.

Ridhaan Goyal clinched the top spot in the boys’ category, demonstrating remarkable skills on the chessboard. Dharia Agarwal and Arthav Adesara secured the second and third positions, respectively. Noteworthy performances were also delivered by Kumar Aditya, Rishit Khaitan, Vihaan Uppalapati, Aveeraj N Aggarwal, Shaurya Agarwal, Nischay Agiwal, Yuvraj Tiwary, Kiaan Agarwal, and Yohaan who claimed the subsequent positions.

The awards were presented by Chief Guest Manoj Kumar, President of the Seraikela-Kharsawan District Chess Association, and Guest of Honour Vibhuti Adesara, Head Sports, Tata Steel. They acknowledged the dedication and skill of the young champions. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Ajay Kumar, Secretary, Seraikela-Kharsawan District Chess Association, NK Tiwary, General Secretary, East Singhbhum District Chess Association, Tournament Director IA Jayant Kr Bhuyan, Chief Arbiter Chandan Kumar Prasad and Arbiter Aman Choubey.
