Food establishments under scanner ahead of Deepawali and Chhath
As part of the inspection, Food Safety Officer Md. Manjar collected samples from various well-known establishments in the city. Samples of cashew-pistachio rolls and milk froth were taken from Bhola Maharaj Food Establishment in Sakchi, white chenna from Nadiya Mishthan Bhandar, and black jamun sweets from Hare Krishna Mishthan Bhandar. These samples will be sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Namkum, Ranchi, for thorough testing.
The food vendors have also been instructed to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at their premises, ensuring that customers receive safe and quality products during the festival season.

Food Safety Officer Md. Manjar stated, “If adulteration is confirmed in any of the samples, strict legal action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.” He also issued a stern warning to all food business operators, reminding them of the serious consequences of food adulteration.
The campaign will continue throughout the festival season, with the district administration committed to protecting public health and ensuring that adulterated or unsafe food items do not make their way into the market.
