BJP releases first list of 66 candidates for Jharkhand Assembly Elections
Jamshedpur, October 19: BJP on Saturday announced first list of 66 candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. Purnima Das Sahu, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das will fight from Jamshedpur East while former chief minister Champai Soren.

Former Chief Minister Champai Soren will contest from Seraikela, state BJP chief Babulal Marandi has been fielded from Dhanwar. Sita Soren will represent the party in Jamtara.

MLA Lobin Hembrom, who was recently disqualified under the anti-defection law, has been given a ticket from Borio. Additionally, Geeta Balmuchu will contest from Chaibasa, Geeta Koda from Jagannathpur, and Meera Munda from Potka.

The assembly elections will take place in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Election Committee was held on October 15, 2024, chaired by Jagat Prakash Nadda. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other committee members.

The Jharkhand assembly polls will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
