Swarotsav folk song contest celebrates cultural harmony at KSMS

Jamshedpur, November 6: Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) hosted Swarotsav, a Folk Song Competition organized by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West to mark the celebration of World Interact Club Week. The event celebrated youth leadership, cultural exchange, and community service through the vibrant traditions of Indian folk music.

Four schools — Kerala Samajam Model School, Kashidih High School, Motilal Nehru Public School, and Vivek Vidyalaya — participated in the competition. Students presented soulful folk songs from different regions of India, showcasing the nation’s diversity and cultural richness.

The programme was held under the guidance of Principal  Nandini Shukla and Interact Club Mentor, Vice Principal Sujata Singh. It was coordinated by Archita Bhattacharjee, Moderator of the Interact Club. Joohi Samarpita, Chairman (New Generation), Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West, graced the occasion and appreciated the participants for keeping India’s folk traditions alive through their performances.

Judges Amrita Choudhury and  Indu Gandhi commended the participants for their musical talent and provided valuable feedback to help them enhance their skills. Each performance reflected not only artistic excellence but also a deep sense of cultural pride and unity.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participating schools, teachers, and students. Swarotsav successfully promoted cultural appreciation and harmony, making it a memorable celebration of India’s musical heritage.
