Jamshedpur, Nov 26: The Swadeshi Khadi Mahotsav kicked off at the Ganesh Puja Ground in Kadma, marked by the inauguration conducted by East Jamshedpur MLA, Saryu Roy. The event, hosting an extensive exhibition and sale of Khadi and woolen garments, features over 105 stalls, providing a platform for skilled artisans in the Khadi Village Industry.

MLA Saryu Roy, attending as the chief guest, emphasized the importance of organizing such exhibition-cum-sales regularly. He highlighted how these events offer a crucial space for experienced artisans to showcase their products, leading to increased sales and employment opportunities. Roy noted that millions of families benefit indirectly, finding sustainable livelihoods through such initiatives.

Fair organizer Anurag Mishra shared insights into the diverse range of products available at the event. The exhibition boasts Bhagalpuri silk, suits, and sarees from Bihar, Kashmiri silk sarees and suits from Jammu and Kashmir, Assam silk sarees and suits, Banarasi silk sarees and suits from Uttar Pradesh, Pochampalli Patola sarees and suits from Andhra Pradesh, Lucknow chikan work suits and tops from Uttar Pradesh, Chanderi suits from Madhya Pradesh, Kosa silk material sarees from Chhattisgarh, handicraft bags from Gujarat, Jute bags from West Bengal, jeans bags, leather bags from Delhi, tops, suits, sarees, mojaris from Rajasthan, sarees, suits from Kerala, phulkari work from Punjab, and jewelry from Jaipur.
