‘Swachhta Message’ turns selfie corner for devotees at Pandey Ghat

Jamshedpur: In a bid to help people observe Chhat amidst clean surroundings, Madhuri Fan Pappu Sardar helped removed garbage from the rivers meet ghat at Bhuiyandih. Pappu, who is also the brand ambassador of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) took initiative as part of the Swachh Bharat campaign. Pappu also used his personal resources to illuminate the ghats for the devotees. Along with officials of JNAC and JUSCO he made sure that the ghats are clear of any garbage.

Lalit Das, son of chief minister Raghubar Das inaugurated the Pandey ghat at Subarnrekha river in Bhuiyadih on Tuesday. Devotees were made aware of cleanliness through banners and posters. The ghat turned into selfie corner for the devotees. The colourful stones with message of cleanliness turned into selfie corner for the devotees. On the occasion JNAC officer Mehndi Anwar Ali was also present.

�I thought it apt to clean the Ghat on the occasion of Chhat, which witnesses an impressive crowd both during evening and morning arghya. I also interacted with several people and explained to them the importance,” said Pappu.

The ardent fan of Madhuri Dixit recently also distributed dustbins free of cost to commoners to help city remain clean in view of Durga Puja. Free green and blue coloured dustbins were distributed among the people present on the spot. In order to recognise his contribution in ensuring the success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pappu Sardar was felicitated by JNAC.
