Swachh TMH campaign launched

Jamshedpur, Dec. 10: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on Thursday launched the Swachh TMH campaign, under the aegis of Joint Departmental Council (JDC) of Medical Services. Through this campaign, TMH appealed to the citizens, patients and their families, employees and staff of the hospital to keep the premises clean.

TMH admits approximately 70 patients in each of the wards and its visitor count goes up to 300 each day (about 4 visitors per patient). Often the visitors tend to litter the place with leftover food items, which they carry from outside, cigarettes/bidis, tobacco or pan/pan masala, which in turn gives rise to unhygienic conditions. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness by advising the general populace to keep the hospital premises clean.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen (Retd) Dr G Ramdas, general manager (Medical Services), Tata Steel, said, In keeping with the cleaning mantra initiated by our Prime Minister the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, TMH has rolled out the Swachh TMH abhiyan. We aim to encourage the people to keep the hospital clean. Although we have deputed staff for housekeeping, we believe that maintaining hygiene at a critical place like the TMH is the responsibility of one and all.

Senior doctors from TMH, the nursing fraternity and the housekeeping unit of TMH were present on the occasion to spread the message.
