Simuldanga pips Chaibasa 1-0 to win U-10 Football Cup

Jamshedpur, Dec 10: Tata Steel�s Under-10 Football Cup concluded at the Armoury Ground in Bistupur here on Thursday. The final match was played between teams from Simuldanga and Chaibasa.

With their attacking headers, powerful kicks and elegant chest traps, kids from Chaibasa and Simuldanga teams played like professional players throughout the game.

Simuldanga scored a 1-0 thrilling 1-0 win over Chaibasa minutes to become the champions before the end of the game ended.

Congratulating both the teams, Biren Bhuta, Chief, CSR, Tata Steel, urged the budding footballers to focus on both the game and education. �It will help you to meet your future challenges,� he advised. Huta also encouraged the kids to learn English, as the knowledge of the language would help them in their sports career, particularly when playing with teams from other countries.

Dilith Castleton, Head, Empowerment,�Kausar Ahmad,�sports coach, CSR, and Sudam Hembram, former state-level footballer, were also present on the occasion.

Tata Steel Rural Development Society�s first-ever Under-10 Football Tournament 2015, which kicked off on December 9, drew 750 energetic kids from 30 teams across Jharkhand and Odisha.

All the kids who participated in the tourney came from Tata Steel-backed football coaching centers in Jharkhand and Odisha. Presently, 30 such centers in the two states are training under-10 boys in various nuances of football.
