Jamshedpur: Swachh Bharat campaign was launched in Kharangajhar, Telco, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti under the aegis of Bharatiya Janata Party, Ghodabandha unit.
The campaign was inaugurated by former Chief Minister Arjun Munda who garlanded a portrait of the Father of the Nation to start the campaign.
Munda held a broom in his hand and led party activists to clean the Kharangajhar community development ground. He said the campaign would be carried out in various parts of the city.
Addressing party workers, Munda said the ‘Clean India’ call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not be limited to a formal programme, but should be extended beyond all boundaries.
He said the people should be made aware of their duty to keep their neighbourhood and public places clean.
District BJP president Nandjee Prasad and other party leaders also addressed the gathering. They asked the people to join the campaign in large numbers.
Among others present during the campaign included Jitendra Rai, Ganesh Solanki, Anil Srivastava, Kalyani Sharan, Deepak Mahato, Pappu Tripathy, Manish Tiwary, Ravishankar Pandey, Pankaj Mishra and Arun Shukla.
