Suspected Al Qaeda terrorist produced virtually in Jamshedpur court

Jamshedpur, Dec 18: Abdul Rehman Katki, a suspected terrorist of Al Qaeda, was produced through video conferencing in the court of the First Additional District and Sessions Judge of Jamshedpur civil court on Saturday. He is lodged in Cuttack jail in Odisha. A letter was written to the Cuttack Jail Administration of Odisha for his production. Earlier, he was produced on December 8. On the other hand, the hearing regarding the formation of charges in Abdul Rehman Katki case was to be held today, but now the matter will be heard on January 6.

This information was given by Katki’s advocate Dilip Mahato. The advocate told that Abdul Sami was also to be produced from Tihar Jail. Video conferencing could not be done due to technical problem. On January 18, 2016, Abdul Sami, a resident of Bistupur Dhatkidih in Jamshedpur, was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi from Mewat in Haryana.
His arrest was made on the confession of Abdul Rehman Katki of Odisha. On January 25, 2016, Jamshedpur Police arrested associates Abdul Masood and Naseem, residents of Dhatkidih of Bistupur, from Mango on the information of Special Branch of Delhi. Both are in Jamshedpur’s Ghagidih Central Jail, while Abdul Sami and Abdul Rehman Katki were kept in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since their arrest. Abdul Rehman Katki has also been taken to Cuttack Jail due to a case against him in Cuttack, Odisha.
