Jamshedpur: The Surya Mandir in Sidgora celebrated its sixth anniversary with a massive show of faith. The four-day religious festival ended with a grand “Deepotsav” and a community feast.
A Spectacular Night of Lights
As the sun set, the temple complex turned into a sea of light.
- 5,100 Lamps: Devotees lit thousands of earthen lamps across the premises.
- Rangoli Art: Local women created colorful patterns and wrote “Jai Shri Ram” using lamps.
- Grand Finale: Fireworks and electric displays added to the festive atmosphere.
Rituals and Prayers
The final day began with Vedic chants and a full recitation of the Sundarkand. Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and MLA Purnima Sahu joined the rituals. They prayed for the city’s peace and prosperity during the Maha Aarti.
Community Feast (Mahabhandara)
The event concluded with a large community meal.
- Over 5,000 devotees attended.
- Separate seating was provided for men and women.
- Volunteers worked around the clock to ensure smooth service.
