Jamshedpur: In a bid to ensure the peaceful and malpractice-free conduct of the annual secondary and intermediate examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, has issued strict instructions for rigorous monitoring of examination centres. As per the directive, senior officials, including the Sub-Divisional Officers (SDO), Land Reforms Deputy Collector (LRDC), Block Development Officers (BDO), and Circle Officers (CO), conducted surprise inspections across various exam centres to maintain law and order and ensure smooth execution of the exams.

The inspection drive, led by Sub-Divisional Officer of Dhalbhum, Shatabdi Majumdar, along with SDO Ghatsila, Sunil Chandra, and LRDC Dhalbhum, Gautam Kumar, was aimed at preventing malpractices and ensuring a fair examination environment. These officials visited several examination centres unannounced, scrutinizing arrangements and reviewing security measures.

During the inspections, Shatabdi Majumdar personally visited examination rooms and interacted with invigilators to ensure adherence to guidelines. Strict instructions were issued, emphasizing that no more than two students should be seated on a single bench to avoid any form of cheating. She also reiterated that carrying mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones, or any other prohibited electronic devices into the examination hall is strictly forbidden.

To further strengthen the anti-cheating measures, teachers were instructed to conduct thorough checks of students before allowing them entry into the examination hall. This verification process was emphasized for both the first and second shifts of the exams. The inspection team ensured that security protocols were being strictly followed to maintain the integrity of the examination process.

SDO Ghatsila, Sunil Chandra, also conducted detailed inspections at several centres in the Ghatsila subdivision. He assessed the security arrangements and ensured that CCTV cameras were functional to monitor the examination halls effectively. The team checked the seating arrangements, invigilation methods, and overall discipline at the centres.

LRDC Dhalbhum, Gautam Kumar, highlighted the importance of vigilance and stated, “Our primary objective is to conduct the exams in a fair and transparent manner. We are closely monitoring all centres to prevent any malpractice and ensure that students compete with integrity.”

In line with the Deputy Commissioner’s instructions, all BDOs and COs were also actively involved in the inspection process across their respective jurisdictions. They maintained a mobile presence, visiting multiple centres to keep a check on compliance with examination norms.

Mittal, appreciated the proactive measures taken by the officials and reiterated the district administration’s commitment to ensuring a malpractice-free examination environment. He urged the examination staff to remain vigilant and follow all guidelines strictly.
