Supporting Madhu Koda was a historical blunder: Jairam Ramesh

Noamundi: Veteran Congress leader Jairam Ramesh arrived in Noamundi to address an election meeting comprising around 1000 people at Jagarnathpur market on Sunday.

Appealing to voters to cast votes in favour of Congress candidate Bagun Sumbrui from the Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituency, Ramesh said the latter was the Bhisma Pitamaha (grandfather) of kolhan. �In history Mahabharata Bhisma Pitamaha maintained complete celibacy by remaining a brahmachari life long, but in this era our �Bhisma Pitamaha� has got married,� said Ramesh humourously while cheering for the veteran politician of West Singhbhum.

Ramesh, while appreciating the congress workers� protest against Geeta Koda joining in Congress Party, said, �It was a historical mistake to support Madhu Koda and making him Chief Minister. The multi-crore scam involving him has tarnished the party�s image. Many village people of Kolhan do not have an account even in post offices whereas Madhu Koda has embezzled money and opened bank account with all the banks in major towns across the world. The scandal man Madhu Koda should be overthrown in the election.�

�I am not a resident of Jharkhand. But in my heart Jharkhand has got a special place. There are 24 such areas that are ruled by outlaws (Naxalites). Block development officers and other government officials have never been to those places. After over 13 years of existence of Jharkhand, I hoisted the National Flag in Saranda,� said Ramesh.

Ramesh said the people of Saranda need various basic facilities like education, roads, and health amenities. �My regular visit to Saranda made the people fearless. Sarenda villagers have woken up. They now want to join the national mainstream,� he said.

�BJP is following just one man, Modi, but Congress is after its manifesto. The plight of the people of the state is the result of failure of Arjun Munda during his three terms and the failure of Babulal Marandi during his one term,� the Congress leader commented.
