Sunil Lohar brace powers Tata Steel to 3-1 win over Jamshedpur FC Reserves

 

Jamshedpur, July 8: Tata Steel delivered a commanding performance to defeat Jamshedpur FC – Reserves 3–1 in the Premier Division match held at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco. After trailing to an early 26th-minute strike by Reeranganba Seram, Tata Steel bounced back strongly in the second half. Rahul Mukhi equalised in the 47th minute, followed by a superb brace from Sunil Lohar in the 52nd and 81st minutes, sealing the win for Tata Steel.

In the Super Division at Gopal Maidan, Shishu Dome Come Club thrashed Manbhum Football Club 5–0 in a one-sided affair. Sawan Hansda was the star of the match, netting four goals in the 20th, 23rd, 71st, and 87th minutes. Lachhu Hembram added to the tally in the 86th minute. Manbhum’s woes worsened with a red card to Nitesh Kumar Mahato in the 59th minute, while Shishu Dome’s Karan Besra was booked in the 74th.

In A Division (Group A) action at Tinplate Sports Complex, Katin Football Club and Gram Vikas Kendra played out a thrilling 2–2 draw. Bishwanath Mahali opened the scoring for Gram Vikas in the 60th minute, but a quick brace by Rajen Singh (65’, 70+03’) swung the momentum towards Katin FC. However, Sandeep Soren’s dramatic equaliser in the 70+04’ minute ensured a point was salvaged.

In Group B of A Division, Adivasi Ritui Gondai Club recorded an emphatic 5–0 win over Ambedkar FC at the Armoury Ground. Lakhiram Murmu struck twice (6’, 40’), while Sonaram Banra (19’), Rahul Gope (26’), and Pintu Murmu (42’) also found the net in a dominant team display.
