Carmel Junior College Jamshedpur bags double gold at CISCE Zonal Football Tournament

Jamshedpur, July 8: Carmel Junior College is hosting the CISCE Jamshedpur Zonal Football Tournament 2025 at its Carmel Bal Vihar Grounds from July 7 to 9. The much-anticipated event has drawn participation from 25 city schools, with teams competing in Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls.

The tournament was inaugurated with a solemn prayer and a melodious hymn by the school choir. Vice Principal Sister Amala Rani welcomed all teams and encouraged them to play with spirit and sportsmanship, while School Manager Sister Jyothi D’Souza officially declared the tournament open.

On Day 1, six teams participated: A.D.L.S. Sunshine School, Carmel Junior College, Motilal Nehru Public School, R.V.S. Academy, and Ramakrishna Mission English School. The host school, Carmel Junior College, delivered a strong performance, securing gold in both the Under-14 and Under-19 categories and silver in Under-17.

Ramakrishna Mission English School claimed gold in the Under-17 category, with R.V.S. Academy taking bronze. A.D.L.S. Sunshine School earned silver medals in both the Under-14 and Under-19 matches.

The opening day witnessed impressive talent, tactical gameplay, and true sportsmanship. The school management expressed gratitude to all participating teams, coaches, and officials, and extended best wishes for the remaining tournament days.
