Baramati/Mumbai (IANS): Sunetra Ajit Pawar, representing the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), secured a landslide victory in the Baramati Assembly bye-election on Monday. Shattering national records, she won by a margin of 218,930 votes, surpassing the previous 2019 record set by her late husband, Ajit Pawar.

Historical Victory and Electoral Performance

• National Record: Sunetra Pawar now holds the highest winning margin for any legislative candidate in Indian history, overtaking the previous record held by Sunil Kumar Sharma of Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh.

• Opponent Standings: Out of 23 nominees, not a single opponent reached the 1,000-vote mark. Notable candidates Karuna Munde and Abhijit Bichukale secured only 125 and 121 votes, respectively.
