Jamshedpur: Transport Ground, Agrico was filled with great zeal and excitement frolicsome atmosphere on Friday, 7th December as S.D.S.M. School for Excellence celebrated its 23rd Annual Sports Day. Students from the school enthusiastically participated in the Sports day event. The participants were really excited about the event.
Sun Family was crowned the overall champion and Cloud family walked away with runners-up trophy.
Earlier, the celebration began with unfurling of the school flag and declaration of the meet open by the Chief Guest Dr. Nirmala Shukla, Ex PG Head, Dept. of Botany, Kolhan University by lighting of the flame and releasing of mascot, accompanied by Chairman, Diwakar Singh, Principal, Moushumi Das to mark the expression of joy and rejoicement followed by march-past by all the six families headed by School People Leader, Bhuvan Malakar.
The Chief Guest in her speech thanked and welcomed the parents and students. She also threw light on the importance of sports for overall development of a student.
The programme was followed by many sporting events like 100 M flat race, Santa Around, Hoopla Hoo and Button Your Shirts etc.
The students were excited and it was quite a joy to see how genuine and eager they were to compete or cheer the different families Mountain, Fire, Sun, Moon, Tree and Cloud.
The students showcased their multifaceted talents. It was a mega event and it culminated by the award ceremony where students were awarded trophies and medals.
Chairman, Diwakar Singh, Parents, Teachers and staff members were present on this occasion.
