West Bokaro, May 16: The fortnight long �Summer Camp 2018� by the Sports Department of Tata Steel�s West Bokaro Division was inaugurated today by Sahabji Kuchroo, Chief Operations, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) in the presence of Mohan Mahto, President, Rastriya Mazdoor Sangh (RCMS) at Sports Complex, West Bokaro.
In a fortnight long engrossing, entertaining and rejuvenating training session, more than 600 children are expected to participate in eight streams including athletics, football, handball, cricket, volleyball, archery, table tennis, fencing along with lifestyle management and yoga classes. The activities during the camp are specifically designed to groom the participants in physical, mental and social aspects.
Speaking on the occasion, Kuchroo said, �Tata Steel has always considered health as one of the most important aspects of life and what could be better than sports. This camp will not only help the children to be fit but will also revitalize their mind and soul along with instilling the sense of team spirit and sportsmanship that will help them lead a disciplined life.�
Citing the importance of sports in life, Mahto said, �This year we are celebrating the 25th year of summer camp and it has been a role model for others in the region to follow. This soil has created sportsmen who have brought laurels not only to the State but to the nation as well and this summer camp is the first platform in the process of making sportsmen with exceptional talents.�
It may be reiterated here that the objective of this camp organized by the Sports Department of West Bokaro Division is to develop team spirit, leadership, competitive spirit among children along with sensitizing them on the importance of fitness for all round development. During this summer camp, young talents will also be selected for joining the Feeder Centre run by the Sports Department.

Bhawani Singh Nirwan, Head, Stakeholder Management, Tata Steel (West Bokaro), Kailash Gope, Treasurer, RCMS, Soumen Mukhopadhyay, Vice President, RCMS, Muna Viswakarma, Assistant Secretary, RCMS, Md. Tariq Anwar, Assistant Secretary, RCMS along with other officials of Tata Steel and RCMS.
