Suicide cases go down by 50 per cent in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Suicide cases have shown a decline by a margin of 50 per cent in the city. If data provided by the city-based NGO Jeevan are to be believed, the number of suicide cases has dwindled down from 22 per cent to 10 per cent. The credit of the welcome change goes to Dr Mahavir Ram, founder director of Jeevan, and other members of the outfit who have been putting in sincere efforts to stop suicides.

A three member team of Jeevan was invited to New Delhi at a meeting with Professor Sahastra Buddhe. Dr Ram attended the meeting with Deepak Purandare and Dr Jain. He shared details about the efforts made by Jeevan to stop suicides and help depression victims.
