Chandil: Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) activists burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Chandil Chowk to register their protest against the hike in rail fare proposed in the Union Rail Budget.
Addressing the gathering of protestors, outfit leader Asudev Mahato said the government decision to increase rail fare was not in the larger interest of the people.
He said the government had failed to bring good days as it had promised in the Lok Sabha election campaign.
