Successful bullet injury operation at RIMS Neurosurgery Department

Ranchi: The Neurosurgery Department at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi has achieved success in a complex operation to treat a bullet injury in a 20-year-old youth named Amarjeet Kumar Singh. The patient was initially treated at MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur but was referred to RIMS for advanced medical care.

Amarjeet Kumar Singh sustained a bullet injury to his head at 10 pm on January 5. After undergoing emergency surgery at MGM Hospital, he was later referred to RIMS for further treatment. The team of doctors in the Neurosurgery Department at RIMS, led by Dr. CB Sahay, performed a successful operation to address the complexities of the bullet injury.

The operation involved the removal of small pieces of the bullet that had damaged the skull and reached the brain. The team, consisting of Dr. Vivek, Dr. Deepak, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Dr. Ravi, Dr. Narayan, Dr. Rahul, and Dr. Saurabh from the anesthesia department, worked collectively under the guidance of Dr. CB Sahay to carry out the intricate procedure.
