Jamshedpur, Jan. 24: Hill Top School, Telco, organized a farewell function for the students of Class X on Saturday.
On the occasion, the school-leaving students reminisced their fun-filled days in school and expressed how difficult it was for them to go out of the portals of their alma mater.
�Bidding farewell to someone who�s very near to you is very difficult.� The same thing happened with Hill Top School students and the teaching and non-teaching staff as they were forced to bid farewell class 10 (30th ICSE batch) at a graduation ceremony. The program began with the welcoming of the chief guest R S Thakur, chairman, TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd.
The theme of the event was�Tough times don�t last, Tough people do�! This was followed by a PPT presentation on the school�s achievements in the past one year 2015-16.
The batch of graduating students arrived in a procession, which was followed by poetic rendition by students of Class X enumerating their dreams and the road that lies ahead.
At the event students of class 10 presented a song �When the going gets, the tough get going� where Samiksha Singh also of Class X sang �I Believe I can Fly� which was applauded by the gathering.
During the ceremony high achievers of ICSE 2015 were also felicitated. Some of the star winners include Narmatha K 97.4%, Akanksha Sharma 97%, Sourodeep Ghosh 96.8%, Rahul Choudhary 96.2%, Srijeeta Laru 96%, Satpreet Singh 95.6%, Venkatesh M 95.4%, Yugesh Ajit Kothari 95.2%, Resham Sundar Kumar 95%, and Anushka Singh 94.2%.
This was followed by the principal�s address and a speech by Class X student Samiksha Singh. Special awards for high achievers of Class 10 were also given away.
Subhashish received the Principal�s Award, while Shivam Shrivastava and Joydeep Nandi were first and second runners-up.
The Young Achiever�s Award was presented to Shivam Srivastava and Resham Chaney. Outstanding Sportsperson Award awarded went to Joydeep Nandi, while Creative Achievement Award was given to Samiksha Singh. Supriya Chakraborty, student of Class IX delivered a speech.
