Students of Kalakar Art Classes create abstract paintings of Tusu Festival

In a unique and creative initiative, students of Kalakar Art Classes brought the spirit of the cultural festival Tusu to life through abstract paintings. The project, conducted by Saurabh Pramanik, founder of Kalakar Community, provided students with an opportunity to explore their artistic skills while connecting with their cultural heritage.

The art class, held at Pramanik’s residence in Chainpur, encouraged students to depict the Tusu festival—celebrated widely in Jharkhand and West Bengal—through abstract art. Pramanik, who has always been passionate about promoting art and culture, emphasized the significance of preserving such traditional festivals through creative expression. “This type of painting is an important part of our Indian culture, particularly festivals like Tusu, which carry deep cultural meaning. It is essential for us to pass on this cultural heritage to future generations,” said Pramanik.

The abstract paintings created by the students showcased the vibrant energy and celebration associated with Tusu, reflecting the festive spirit through various forms and colors.
