Chandil: Criminals unleashed terror in Seraikela district on Monday as they brazenly shot and killed a man in broad daylight. The victim, Dilip Gorai, was attacked at Kalpana Studio under Chandil police station at around 11:00 a.m.
According to eyewitness accounts, two motorcycle-borne youths arrived at the studio ostensibly to get their photos clicked. While engaging in conversation with Gorai, the duo had their pictures taken. In a shocking turn of events, they suddenly opened fire on him, leaving him critically injured and bleeding inside the studio.
Hearing the gunshot, Gorai’s family members rushed to the studio and were devastated by the scene. Despite efforts to save him, Gorai was pronounced dead at TMH hospital.
The criminals fled on their motorcycle in the direction of Chandil railway station. The chilling incident was captured on CCTV, providing crucial leads for the police.
Speaking on the matter, a police official stated, “We are analyzing the CCTV footage and pursuing all possible angles to apprehend the culprits. This act of daylight violence will not go unpunished.”
The incident has plunged the community into grief and raised concerns about the growing audacity of criminal activities in the district.
