Students of Loyola School spread message of global peace

Jamshedpur : Students of Loyola School spread the message of global peace at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here on Friday.

The occasion was the 69th Annual Sports Day. Students for the first time presented colourful tableau to present colourful show giving message of peace and harmony.

The students of the school presented a unique colourful pageantry and drill that was based on global peace and inspired from Rio Olympics. Anoop T. Mathew, senior superintendent of police, East Singhbhum inaugurated the sports meet .

Father Sebastian Puthenpura, principal of Loyola School inspected the four house contingents of Loyola School. The inauguration was followed by a march past by members of the four houses– Cheetahs; Leopards; Panthers; Jaguars. Mathew congratulated the school authorities and students for organizing the great event.

A total of 1,500 primary school children (from classes I to V) participated in the field display based on the theme Global Peace. The field display was followed by the performance on Rio Carnival. The sports meet also had flags of Olympic countries.

Charulata Sinha, a teacher of junior section of the school said that it was result of team effort. The children had put lot of efforts for the event. The Loyola spirit was at display at the stadium today.

Robert Bosen, the sports teacher of Loyola School said that the students have put in great effort. In previous years, they used to present their drill separately. But, this was the first time that students from classes I-V come together on a single platform to spread message of peace.

The school on its 69th year of sports meet organised a 100 m, 200 m, 4×100 m relay, javelin throw, shotput, discus throw long jump, short jump, hurdle race, and other games divided into junior and senior categories.
