Jamshedpur, June 20: Sacred Heart Convent School celebrated the International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm on Saturday, bringing together students, teachers, and staff for a morning dedicated to health, mindfulness, and well-being. The school campus witnessed active participation as members of the school community joined hands to promote the importance of yoga in daily life.
The programme began with a peaceful invocation, followed by a welcome address by Principal Sister M. Steffi. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted the significance of yoga as a holistic practice that nurtures the mind, body, and soul. She encouraged students to adopt yoga as a regular habit to help them manage the challenges of modern academic life and maintain overall well-being.
The yoga session was conducted by certified instructor Anamika Jha, who guided participants through the Common Yoga Protocol. Students and staff performed various asanas, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, and Bhujangasana, which help improve flexibility, concentration, balance, and posture.
The session also included pranayama exercises and a brief meditation practice. The calm atmosphere during the meditation reflected the participants’ focus and engagement in the activity.
The celebration concluded with a collective pledge by students and teachers to incorporate yoga and mindful living into their everyday routines. The event left participants refreshed and motivated, reinforcing the message of leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle through regular yoga practice.
