Student of St Xavier’s College falls victim to criminals in Jamshedpur

Rs 5,000, laptop, and smartphone looted

Jamshedpur, Aug. 10 : In a shocking incident a city-based student studying at Kolkata fell victim to two criminals while travelling from Sakchi to his house in Mango late last night.

The victim, Harish Agrawal (21) who is a student of St Xavier’s College in Calcutta and resides at his house on Dimna Road in Mango was forced to part with his wallet containing Rs 5,000, laptop, smartphone and ATM card and bag by the two criminals.

According to Harish, he got down from the Steel Superfast Express at about 10.15 pm and boarded an auto-rickshaw from Station area to Sakchi. By 11 pm, he reached at the Sakchi roundabout from where he boarded a reserved auto to his house on Dimna Road.

As the vehicle was negotiating the Subernarekha Link road through Old Court area, the auto paused there for a moment and the driver’s assistant came behind to sit beside Harish.

The assistant took out a knife and stuck it at the neck of the victim. Then the driver also joined and took away the wallet containing the cash as well as the ATM card and the bag containing the laptop.
