Jamshedpur: A violent storm accompanied by heavy rain wreaked havoc across several villages in the Potka block late Sunday evening, causing significant damage to homes and property. The sudden onslaught left many rural families grappling with loss as both partially and fully damaged houses were reported from multiple areas.
Upon receiving information from villagers, Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar responded promptly and personally visited the affected villages to assess the situation on the ground. Interacting with the victims, he took note of the destruction caused and immediately contacted district and block-level officials to initiate relief and compensation measures without delay.
“Providing relief in times of natural disaster is our foremost duty. No family will be left behind — everyone affected will receive the support they deserve under government schemes,” assured MLA Sardar while addressing the villagers.
The affected families expressed appreciation for the MLA’s quick action and empathetic response, acknowledging his commitment to standing with the people in times of distress. Instructions have already been issued to conduct a comprehensive survey to assess damages and provide appropriate financial aid to the victims.
As survey teams begin damage assessments, local administration has also been directed to ensure temporary shelter and essential supplies to the most severely impacted households.
