Steel city records 36 degree temperature

Jamshedpur, March 11 : The steel city today recorded 36 degree temperature. The unusually hot conditions prevailing in the city are likely to continue for next few days. The local met office has said that there are no signs of rain in the Chotanagpur plateau area and the people would have to wait for another 48 hours.

Officials at the Patna Met office, which monitors the weather condition in Jharkhand said that the dry spell is likely to be continued. The wait for rains has been extended. The officials added that Chhotanagpur plateau regions were devoid of North-westerly winds this year. The North-westerly winds usually originate from
Chhotanagpur plateau and brings rain. However, this year so far the region has been deprived of such resulting in steady rise in the maximum temperature.

The maximum temperature in Jamshedpur, Daltongunj, Latehar several other districts had already touched 36 degrees Celsius. The day’s reading have been hovering over 36 degree Celsius in Jamshedpur,Daltonganj, Latehar and Dumka for the second consecutive day today. In Ranchi the day’s reading has been comfortable for the last twoda days at around 32 degree Celsius.

The day’s reading was hovering at around 35 degree Celsius at Bokaro, Giridih, Deoghar and Chatra since last two days. According to Met forecast, the maximum temperature was expected to witness a rising trend due to the dominating westerly wind.

Met statistics revealed that the maximum temperature hovered at around 31 degee Celsius during this time last year in the capital while in Jamshedpur and other parts of Kolhan region the day temperature was around 34 degree Celsius.
