Ranchi, June 8: Plantation campaign will be launched across the state from June 15, Chief Minister Raghuwar Das said on Wednesday. The campaign will be on the lines of Yojna Banao Abhiyaan to ensure the participation of masses, the CM added.
CM further said -the campaign to save environment and plantation in large number can be successful through mass involvement. Unprecedented progress in farm pond (doba) digging work under the Yojna Banao Abhiyaan will be maintained, added Das. The CM was chairing a meeting of Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department at the Project Building today.
CM directed the forest officials to provide 10 saplings free of cost and incentives to each beneficiary of farm pond (doba) for plantation on farm pond poundage. It is mention worthy that under agriculture department 1 lakh and under MANREGA scheme 5 Lakh farm ponds (doba) digging work is on progress. Das directed the forest officials to draft a scheme for this campaign at the earliest. Continue the plantation work uninterrupted in forest area, further directed the CM.
Chief secretary Raj Bala Verma, Sanjay Kumar, principal secretary to CM, Sukh Dev Singh, principal secretary (Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department), N. N. Sinha, principal Secretary (Rural Development Department) and other officials were present in the meeting.
