Jamshedpur: Jharkhand’s athletes with disabilities will get a major platform to showcase their talent as a state-level Para Sports Competition is set to take place at the JRD Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on February 6 and 7, 2026. The event is open to para-athletes above 18 years of age from all districts of the state.
The competition aims to identify promising para-athletes, provide them proper guidance, and help them progress to national and international levels. It will include Para Athletics and Para Badminton events. Para Athletics will feature races, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw, allowing athletes with different physical challenges to compete through a scientific classification system.
Para Badminton, now part of the Paralympic Games, will also be held for wheelchair and standing players with various disabilities.
The event is being organized by the Paralympic Committee of Jharkhand as part of the 25th State Para Athletics Championship and the 5th State Para Badminton Championship.
Participation is free, and lodging and meals will be provided to athletes and their companions. Registration is open until February 6, 2026. Athletes from schools, clubs, organizations, and individuals across Jharkhand can take part in this important sporting event.
