State-Level Kho-Kho training camp, examination held in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 17: Under the joint aegis of the Jharkhand State Kho-Kho Association and East Singhbhum District Kho-Kho Association, a one-day training camp cum written examination for technical officials, judges, and trainers was organized for the first time in Jamshedpur. The event took place on Sunday, 17th November 2024, at the PS office auditorium in Sakchi, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

The program was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Chief Guest Vivek Kumar, Sports Officer of Tata Motors Sports Department, and Special Guest Avtar Singh, an international player. Other dignitaries present included Santosh Kumar Prasad, Secretary of the Jharkhand State Kho-Kho Association; Sunit Malik, Vice President of the association; and former cricketer Jagdish Kumar. The Secretary of East Singhbhum District Kho-Kho Association, Victor Vijay Samad, welcomed the guests.

In his address, Chief Guest Vivek Kumar commended the efforts of the East Singhbhum District Kho-Kho Association for organizing this first-of-its-kind state-level training initiative. He wished success to all participants and praised the association’s commitment to enhancing the quality of technical officials, judges, and trainers.

The training included both theoretical and practical sessions. Expert instructors such as Sunit Malik, Santosh Kumar Prasad, Baru Sagen Sindhu, and Jagdish Sinku conducted the classes. After the training, a two-hour written examination and an oral examination were held, with 30 candidates participating.

Post-evaluation, certificates were awarded to successful candidates by Santosh Kumar Prasad, who expressed high hopes for the East Singhbhum District Kho-Kho Association. He highlighted Jamshedpur’s legacy as a sports hub and its potential to produce exceptional Kho-Kho players.

The program’s success was attributed to the contributions of several key organizers, including Victor Vijay Samad, Shyam Kumar Sharma, Usha Bakhla, W. Rehman, M. Arshad, Dayal Singh Nehra, Arbaaz Khan, Shivani Kumari, Aarushi Sikka, Baldev Singh Nehra, Avtar Singh, Ajay Mahanti, and Narendra Kumar.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by senior district player Di Hemlata.
